    Default data time controversy

I need some help. When I got my Treo two years ago, I was told that I needed a data plan, not only for the Internet, but for sending and receiving pictures. It is true that when I receive pictures or send them, I am clearly on the network; the symbols appear above the bars. Now Verizon tells me I do not have to pay for pictures because it is covered on our regular cell pictures and text plan. I have been trying to explain to them that I believe that pictures are considered data, but they tell me I am wrong. Who's right? Verizon? Me?

    Regina,
If you have the select plan on your phone you have the right to send pictures and text without any other charges. However, if you do go to the internet for any other reason you will be charged for the data if you do not have the data plan.

I removed my data plan could not see double paying for a service.

You really need to make sure the plan you use is the plan you need. I purchased a Sprint phone for one of my sons; when purchased, he stated he had no need for data. Well, a few days ago I look at the bill and wow, I asked my son if he downloaded anything on that phone. The answer: yes, a poker game. Well, that poker game cost me $80 in additional charges.

Carrying this a bit further. I purchased a black Centro from Sprint and gave that son the 700P that I was using. The transaction was done on the phone with a female in India. During the conversation, she was advised I wanted data on each of the phones on the account (2 Centros, 1 700P) and that is what I was suppose to have gotten. The bill though showed $80 more than what it should have been. A call to Sprint cleared up the problem. The person in India switched out the son's phone with the 700P and she failed to add data to that phone.

The call to correct the problem lasted 5 minutes and now the account is correct.
