Seriously, I don't have a 680 to compare my 700p with. Do 700p's function as well in these areas as the 680?

Yes and No. There is Good, which really is not that Good. Instant Messaging - third party with a bunch of applications - I use Mundu V4. Power saving enhancements - third party - Power Hero and Power Man come to life.

Functionality? Well, my friend, no problems on my end. I use ChatterEmail 24/7, and my battery lasts about 5 hours before needing to be recharged due to my usage habits - HanDBase for hours at a time, ChatterEmail and DTG.

Okay...I kind of figured 3rd party apps provided us with the same features. Does that mean, though, that the 680 comes with similar progs pre-installed?

Now that Gmail offers IMAP, I should give ChatterEmail another try (later).

It does and gosh, the 3rd party applications still work much, much better. As for GMail and IMAP and ChatterEmail, I use it without a problem.

VersaMail supports Exchange ActiveSync for coproate e-mail, and Sprint has a free IM client that loads AIM, MSN, and Yahoo. "Power saving enhancements" is just sugar-coating.
