Happened again this morning, and this time patience didn't work! Seems it happens mostly after taking the phone out of the cradle after it's been charging all night. I wonder if something is running or happens overnight that causes this?

Had to resort to Re-setting the device to get it back on. Second time this week.

Signal strength has been known to make them sleep heavily. I do not like to think about hard resets; have you done a backup recently and are you inclined to do a hard reset and live with nothing on the device for a week or so? If no problems during the week or so, then there is an app that is just not playing nicely. If it continues and you are able to establish that signal strength is not a factor, then complain to the phone company.

    Hey Ben,

I back up / sync regularly, and have no applications other than what came with the device so far, (Documents to go, etc.). Haven't had to resort to a hard reset, and really don't want to, if not totally necessary. I know the signal strength in my house isn't the best, two bars max. Perhaps that may have something to do with it.

I have had this happen twice. In both cases the device crashed while the screen was off, so essentially the device is frozen and the screen won't turn on so you can see that it's frozen. I know this is the case because I have a program called Crash that logs all the crashes and the two times this happened it logged a crash, due to third party apps (which I removed).

I've got no third party apps, unless Wireless Sync by Verizon and Documents to Go are considered third party apps??

DTG is not a background application. Wireless Sync - gosh, no idea. Is there a Sprint or Verizon center in your area - they can at least check the device for physical operation. Ben

The techs (teenagers mostly) that work in most of the centers in my area, are less than thouroughly knowledgeable (if ya know what on mean) on the 700p.

    Guess I can call again.
