Does your 700p turn off and never come back on?
Hi,
I was wondering if any one else has experienced this problem? My treo lately will turn off and then will stay off I keep hitting the power button and etc. But won't come on then I do a soft reset and it comes to life.
I haven't installed anything new.
So should I call verizon and return it or should I just keep using it?
thank you for your response,

What is turning off, the phone or the screen?
The phone turns on and off with the power button and typically takes about a second to start the process of turning on/off. Are you being impatient?
As to the screen, the Treo (not the phone) is always on, it is just the screen that turns off (to save power). If you press any of the application buttons, to wake the screen, and it doesn't respond, I'd consider visiting the Verizon store, or calling customer service.
Are you loaded up with third party applications?
Is this a new phenomenon, or has it been going on for a while? Did you install anything recently?

Thanks for the feed bakc.
First, the whole phone everything goes off. I can hit the power button all the buttons and no response. I have to push the reset button in the back ot get it back on.
This has been happening since I got the phone. It happens every two months or so(I thought it was due to a 3rd party app). I did have a lot of 3rd party apps. But I did a hard reset a couple of days ago and I still have nothing on it; when the phone died again. It is also starting to happen more frequently now.
I really don't want to go throught the whole new phone thing. But I do want to get rid of these scratches I have on it.
Thanks for the help.

Considering you've already tried the hard reset, and you're still having the same problem, I'd say you ought to take the phone back.
Maybe someone here has some technical advice for you, though.

wow i had the same exact problem! My fix was to remove the battery let it sit for 1 minute, and it boot back up.

It is a documented feature of the 700p - normally though one has to just wait a few seconds with another try and it will come on. I have yet had to reset my device due to it. Ben

Hey I'm not alone:laugh3: . Yeah, I've had my Treo for two weeks, (actually it's the second one.........Verizon replaced the first one after it malfunctioned after a day). Twice so far on this second one, the phone appeared not to "wake up" after I tried pressing the phone and applications buttons. Tried several times each, and had to reset. I didn't try "waiting it out", as I'm rather impatient:laugh3:
