Not exactly sure if I understand what you want to do. Do you want to download applications and run them from the card? Or move something from the Treo to the card?

Yea. I'd like to download applications and run them from the SD card.

If you're using a computer, when you get them in the Quick Install window, drag them to the card part of the window before you sync. If the app can be run from the card, it should install in the launcher folder automatically.

If you're downloading over the air (OTA) with the Treo, choose the card option before downloading.

    Does that help?

    Hi there,

I'm a fairly new Treo user and have been eagerly downloading and installing all kinds of handy applications. I've noticed that my device memory is getting pretty low.

What's the quickest/easiest/safest way to MOVE an application to my SD card (where I have tons of free room)? I see that there's a COPY option in one of the menus, but is there a way to MOVE an application safely?

    Thanks

You're low on memory on a 700p? How many apps have you installed? Are you actually using the ones that you've installed, or could you stand to get rid of some of them?

You can use the native launcher to move an app to the card, provided it can be run from the card. Generally, apps that need to interact with system processes (i.e. alarms) will need to remain in the RAM (the Treo's internal memory). Other apps may be run from the card. Move them to the palm launcher folder on the card and attempt to run them from there. A good way to go about it is to copy the app, then attempt to run it from the card. If it works, you can get rid of the original left on the device.

You may also want to consider a 3rd-party launcher, like ZLauncher, LauncherX, Initiate, etc.
