    Default Email signature

I have several friends who have Treos. When they send me email from their online accounts (Yahoo or Gmail), there is a signature at the bottom that says, "Sent from my Treo 700P" and gives their the email address and cell phone number from where the email is coming from.

Is this a wireless carrier thing or a setting on the phone or a setting on the email account?

I'm not sure if I like it or not, but am interested in how it got there. How did it get there? Did they add it as part of their signature?

    Hi:

Assuming you are using Versamail and assuming nothing changed from my 650....Open Versamail > Press Menu button > Options > Preferences > Under Message select Signature.

    Thanks for the reply.

Does YOUR Treo do this when other people receive emails from you?

It is a setting within the email program you are using. Ben

Mine is two and a half years old and I believe when I got it there was that type of message, but I changed it to my name, title, company, contact information, etc. My Treo is company provided and the main use is for business. That is what others see when I send them email from the Treo. Not unlike the Outlook "Signature" option.

I do have personal Versamail accounts and the signatures are different for each.

I refuse to include a signature like "Sent From My Treo" as no one is paying me for advertising.

Ok, I believe that answers my question. You made me laugh with that last line of refusing to include the Treo signature - don't know why it struck me as funny!

My Treo is my own, and is used for both personal and business. I will adjust the signatures to my liking.

Thanks for all your help and input!

For the "business" email address, I have my name and company information. For my "non-business" email addresses, I have "Another beautiful day in paradise."
