"Email vs. "Mail" apps?

Hello everyone. I recently got a 700p (Verizon), and I'm a bit of a noob. Email access on the unit was set up by our tech-staff, but I think was done incorrectly. I notice that I have 2 "email" icons listed in my home: "Email" and "Mail." I believe "Mail" is Versamail (and what I probably want to use). Currently though, my email is configured through the "Email" icon (don't know what the app is called). Now, everytime I try to set up an account through the wireless sync and use Versamail, my Treo crashes and soft-resets. Anybody have any thoughts/suggesitons/ideas? Thanks in advance.
