If your data is backed up, then I'd suggest you do a hard reset. This will bring your Treo back to it's factory default. I'd check your Palm backups folder and remove the offending application BEFORE syncing your Treo again.

A hard reset will result in data loss, but if you have done hotsynced your Treo recently, you'll be ok.

    Good luck.

Any luck fixing this? I had the same problem a week ago and Verizon sent me another phone.

Just happened again and they are sending me ANOTHER phone.

I really hope there is a better solution to this. I have no additional apps running than what was provided with the device.

    Argh!!!

    Ronald & CGuthrie,

Do you guys feel that a particular piece of new software started the problem? Or, do you think it was just a 'random' occurrence?

The symptoms make it seem a bad software installation - a warm reset to stop the looping and to look for the bad dude or a hard reset to start over without reinstalling the problem application is what I would consider doing. I make it a habit to always do a device based backup before playing with a new update and normally do my playing in the morning, meaning I can restore from the backup done during the night.

It's really hard to say because he is on verizon and I am on sprint.
I can say for sure that the installation software I got this time was completly different from what I got originally. In the case of sprint I think something else is also going on. The phone keeps changing networks on it's on.
Treo support isgoing to reset my network settings again today. In fact Im on hold as I type this

I'm a new user and have had similar issues with my phone freezing. I noticed that my 700p would freeze while or after running pTunes. I downloaded the latest upgrade and so far(fingers crossed ) i have not had the recurring issue. Hope this helps

So, did the network reset fix it for you?

Yes when they did the last reeset of the network , it seemed to work.

I treid the phone all weekend and my speeds were back where they use to be. I tend to run a speed test now every couple of days to make sure all is well. I was at 724 kbps on friday
