I read there was an application to do that, though I never found it. If you have a previous backup, then do a hard reset and go from there.

I would be disappointed if there is a way to retrieve it -- it would kind of defeat the whole purpose.
I feel for your situation, still, for the integrity of the software, I hope you cannot get it back -- I hope you remember it!

Not necessarily, IMHO. The only person who could get the data back after a hard reset would be the owner who's been syncing to a particular computer. Someone finding the Treo on the sidewalk wouldn't have the "hopefully-non-protected" memos on his computer.

I misread it - the password to your private memos on the desktop should be the same password for your device - it is on mine.

Ideally, you cannot get the data without the password period -- no matter if you are trying to get it from the desktop or the handheld. Though I really doubt that private data is encrypted (at least not strong encryption). That's why I use SplashID for my real sensative stuff.

Dude, I feel your pain. forgot mine and had to do the hard reset, lost a lot of unretrievable info serious bummer. suggest you download the patch offered online for future reference. I know I'm going to after that fiasco. Good luck.
