    Default Frozen!!!

I love my 700p but every time i send a text and the checkmark comes up it freezes... sometimes for a pretty long time... the only way to fix it is to hard reset, and today when i had to do it, it reset my prefs to default. Im pretty angry. It doesnt freeze for long if i leave the messaging app before the checkmark comes up, but if I dont do it fast enough it just stops. Im guessing a firmware update will fix this glitch, where can I find it?

Ok i found the update and it does fix the lag, but I dont want to delete all my apps and whatnot, itll take forever to get it all back... The only way to update firmware is if i install everything over again?

You could use Backup Buddy, back-up all your apps to an SD card. I would also suggest using the SD card method of updating your phone. I had an issue with using the PC sync method. The phone went into an endless loop. Palm walked me through the SD card method of installing the update. This only took 15min. to install the udate, instead of the 35 minutes through the PC Sync.

I can only testify to Verizon's update. If you go the Palm update site on their web page, click under Vista OS. This where you can download the update to the SD card. You will need an SD card reader.

When I sync'ed the phone I made sure the sync was set to Computer Overrides Handheld. When it was over I had all my contacts, calendar events, and even the ringtones I set for certain people.

**NOTE** If you decided to use the SD method, you will need a blank SD card. You can not use the SD card that all your apps are

The update, here is what you need to do.

    First, back up the device.

I suggest doing the update from the card. If you have a spare card, use it; otherwise, back the card up to the desktop and delete the contents of the card.

Next, follow the instructions for the update.

Next, after the update has been done, delete the contents on the card (those contents are the files necessary for the update) and then copy (not move) the files that were originally on the card back to the card.

Next, restore the device via hot sync from the desktop.

Restoring the device from a device based backup application can cause files to be overwritten that would be better off not being over written.

And yes, you can use the card your apps are on if those files are MOVED to the desktop.
