gmail and calender notification sync?

G'day all,
Little new to the whole forum thing but I'm also new to the whole treo thing so I thought you all might help.

I'm currently running gmail for email and the google calender for the obvious, Is there anyway to sync the google calender to the palm?

also,

Is there anyway to sync the gmail, As I would like my treo to tell me when I have a new gmail message.

There is no way yet to sync Google Calendar to the Palm.

As far as Gmail, you can download via POP using Versamail or whatever email client you choose. Instructions are available from Google; search the boards and you'll find many discussions about problems with settings some have had, and how they were resolved (I've never had any). If you are like me, and also download your GMail to a desktop, but also want a copy on your Palm, you can do what I did: set up another Gmail account and have all your messages forwarded to the second account. You can then specify that any replies to a message sent from your Treo will go to the first account. This keeps everything clean so you can have a copy of all messages in both places until you delete.
