 |  Google Maps Help i just download this today and when i try to get directions, its timesout and says... Network Unavailable this program requires a data connection. please contact your carrieror visit google.com/gmm/configure.html on your computer for more info. (Error: Network Timeout) i went to that website and didnt find any info...what is wrong? i have a data plan, and i just cant get this thing to work...any help is appreciated! thanks |

| I have seen this a number of times. When it happens, I refresh the application and it then connects. I am on Sprint and this normally happens when the signal is not very strong. Ben

| Goodness. In the Java preferences, have you got it set to allow it to use the data connection? I gotta find it somewhere here... IBM Java VM preferences in the system preferences - whenever I play with this my Treo resets - anyway there is a setting about allowing it to do the Internet. Ben

   | FWIW, I have to take my IMAP Chatter accounts offline before Googlemaps will work for me. If I don't, it just sits there and after about 2 minutes, I get a "Network not available" message. Taking those Chatter Accounts offline, solves the problem every time . .
