| Google Maps versus "Incoming!" OK, here's the situation: You are driving along following some pretty intense directions on the screen from Google Maps, and someone calls in, wiping out the map and then the caller ID screen shows up. Yikes! What happened to my map? I have to get rid of the call, go back to Home, and select Google Maps again.
Is there anyway to stop this from happening? Is there a setting I am missing that would keep the Google map on the screen and yet allow me to take the call? Am I asking for too much?
Tom

| Well, the phone call triggers the phone application to run, so that's why that happens. I don't know if it can be prevented, not something I've heard of being done before. I believe a new feature in the latest Phone Technician beta release will return you to the application you were in after you end a call.

| On my 680, I can hold down the home key and I get a sub-menu of the last 7 apps that I have had open. Selecting Google maps returns me to exactly where I was when I left the app . . I don't know if your 700 includes this feature or not. If not, zLauncher also offers a similar feature that allows you to choose the last apps you have had open, and it will return you to your place in Googlemaps . . .

| Since you can talk on the phone and still use the device, why not answer the call and restart Google via the quick launch feature described by Mr. Stillrockin or just manually restart the application? It is an easy and inexpensive solution.

Ben | I think the problem there is that it's not that easy to do while driving.

I'll set up a quick launch key for it, and try that. I suppose I could also shut off the phone function if I am in a busy area--once I have downloaded my map--and that way my mapping won't be disturbed!
Thanks to all for the ideas.
