  |  Help!!! I'm somewhat new to Palm OS (I'm used to Windows Mobile, I had a handspring Visor though when i was younger) and I'm trying to use the quick install but it says no Desktop User exists. HotSync works, my user name comes up on PalmOne Desktop, it syncs my info, and Documents to Go even puts the XLS files I want on my Treo, but it doesn't recognize any user so I can't install the handheld applications to actually use them. I have been getting around this by using an SD card to mount the PRC files, but when it comes to Documents to Go, I dont know what to do. I'm sure theres something I'm overlooking, and its probably something simple... any ideas? |

| Are you selecting the appropriate user when the prompt to sync comes up? You can also use applications such as Pilot Install for installing applications to the device and/or card. I have not used the QuickInstall format in a couple of years.

| As a note, I use DTG extensively, both the Word and Excel functions and do not use the DTG sync utility; instead, I use Bluetooth and Card Reader or Blue Files to move things around - much faster. Ben

| when i go to "re-install handheld applications" on DTG it asks me to select the device user... but there aren't any on the list... even though it just synced my xls timesheet, it cant access it because my treo says the handheld applications are not there. WHAT DO I DO!? Are these applications located somewhere on my hard drive in .prc format so i could just mount them on a card? |

| Ok, it says for instance that sheets to go is not available - I have come across that twice. What I have found that works is to go to the preferences and MOVE the applications from the card to the device and then back to the device. Also, I quit using the desktop component long, long ago when I up'd to 9 and then to 10.02. I move the files back and forth via Blue Files or Card Reader - much quicker. Ben
