Question Help. Looping... want to save data

    OK, multi-pronged problem.

Recently my Treo 700p started looping (attempts to turn-on unsuccessfully over and over). A trip to the Sprint service desk produced a fairly quick, "nothing we can do but a hard reset erasing all data."

Prior to this looping issue, my sync stopped working properly. I assumed this was a Vista issue and am currently kicking myself for not aggressively resolving that problem before now. Obviously at this point, I am far overdue in backing up my data. My hope is to revive both the sync software and the device without losing the data currently on the phone.

I've searched multiple forums for a previously conceived answer but none seem to touch on all the issues I'm facing with one solution.

The only non-standard download is the Google Maps application.

I used to use the Treo for email regularly but recently returned to just text, voice, web and memos.

Any advice is appreciated. From what I have found, it seems like a warm boot is in order.

    Thanks

A warm reset will stop the loop from continuing. Do you have a card in the device?

I've used the SD card from my camera to transfer pictures before but I don't have a card dedicated to the device.

If this question is unnecessary, please ignore but should I have my sd card formatted in some way to support the Treo?

At one time I would have said no, not a problem; however, for the last year or so I have been coming across cards that just wanted to be formatted in the device they were destined to work in and that in itself can be a task that takes time.
