Default How to sign off Blazer?

I'm starting to play with my new 700p and I'll probably be asking for help on various things for a while. I posted this at the end of another topic, but I think it got lost there. So I decided to post it with a topic name. Is there a way to "sign off" of the web after one gets on it using Blazer? It seems to stay on as long as the phone is on and I think it even came back by itself the next time I turned the phone on. Then today it gave me the prompt about Do You Want To Access the Internet when I clicked on the Web symbol--so it must have been off at least once. I can't find any Exit or Sign Off when I drop down the Blazer menus and the book doesn't say anything about signing off.

I have an unlimited data plan with Verizon, but I feel uncomfortable being online all the time. Should that be a concern?

Thanks in advance.

Blazer doesn't stay on (i.e. it doesn't work in background) once you move off to another application - even though you may still see the last webpage you visited when you're back to Blazer. So there's no need to 'sign off'.

Your observation may be due to the data connection is still open. After you use an Internet-aware app such as Blazer the data connection is left connected. Blazer does not have an option to disconnect after use. But it should not be a concern as Blazer is 'gone' after you move away from it.

I think I remember on the 650 there was the option to disconnect from the web physically. That option was removed from te 700P (I could be wrong). I don't trust that the data connection is actually disconnected when you leave blazer as I ave checked by shutting down my email, leaving blazer and I still can see the little arrows turn green next to the connection icon now and then. This is not a problem for me as I have an unlimited data plan. Would be cause for concern with someone who is not.

I have the unlimited data but when in doubt I just turn the phone off and then back on.

If leaving the data connection on is a concern, you may try to manually disconnect by:
1. Go to Prefs (Preferences)
2. Choose Network
3. Hit "Disconnect"

There may be some 3rd party tools that allow you to do the same exact thing.

Are you doing this on a Treo 650 or a 700P??? I was able to this on my 650, but my Verizon 700P does not have a disconnect option in the preferences! Anybody else have a 700P that has a disconnect option in the preferences?

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. The disconnect is not part of Blazer in 700p. Here are the exact steps to disconnect:
1. Press the Home key (repeatedly) until you see "All"
2. Scroll to the icon "Prefs", select it.
3. Scroll to the "Communication" section.
4. Choose Network
5. Hit "Disconnect" at the bottom
As I said, some other 3rd party software may allow you to disconnect from the data connection w/o doing these tedious steps.
