I need opinions/help! - Treo Forums

Alrighty, I am a total noob to Treos. I've spent the past few days just reading and researching blah blah blah.
Today I go to Verizon and sign up for a new plan and get a Razr for 60 bucks.
I am planning on just selling this on ebay (can get like 260+ for it) and buying a Treo.
I was reading some reviews the 700p looks REALLY nice. But my question is I have been
seeing a lot of things like extra data plan or something. I just want to be able to go into verizon, change my phone number from my razr to my new treo and not have to think.
Is there some other plan or something I will have to get where I have to pay more monthly? Enlighten me.

ALSO
I was looking at prices on ebay for 700p vs 650, and there was a pretty significant difference. The main specification differences I've seen that I care about are: the camera quality improvement, the ED-VO addition, and the additional memory.
But if I can get over not having an amazing camera, will I really notice the speed improvement and I already have a SD card.

I mainly want this phone to be able to check email/web browse on the fly, of course call, and take decent pictures.

Please, I NEED INPUT!

Verizon will try to tell you that you have to buy a wireless data plan with this phone, but you do not. Tell them to show you in writting if they give that nonsense. You can go with the pay as you go data, which of course will in the long run, cost you a fortune if you are going to use the web and check email as both of those use the data plan, not your phone plan. So my advice is if you are not going to use it at all, pay as you go. Using occasionally, go with the $20.00 plan which gives you 10MB data usage a month. Going to use more, go with the unlimited plan @ $45.00 per month, then you can web browse and send a million emails without paying extra.

Yes, it does run faster, the increased memory is a boost, and the web is faster in the EvDo areas.

The pay as you go plan is $0.0159 per KB! So you are looking at aprox. $16.00 per MB if my math is correct. Better to buy a data plan.

VZW would not let me switch a number from one phone to another.

I have four lines with Verizon. I just bought the 700P and put it on my number. They put my old 650 on my wife's line, and her phone on the third line as the third line's phone was non functional. Why woulnd't they do that for you?

I switched my 700w to 700p without a problem - other than it costing me $619.

When I wanted to switch from my 650 to the 700, I found it was unfair that new customers got a $100.00 discount, and I being a returning customer with them since 1991 when they were NYNEX Mobile, got no such discount. So I called Customer Service and spoke with a supervisor and told them that I could switch over to Sprint as a new customer and get a discount and leave VZW. So I got the $100.00 discount, plus another $100.00 off the phone for another reason unrelated to that. So I got my 700 for $349.00.
