Default display powers off after call ends

I have my power settings to shut off the display after 1 minute of inactivity.

I also have it set to dim the display when on a call after 30 seconds.

These seem to work fine.

But I've just noticed some strange behavior:

If I'm in any other app, the display stays on for one minute after the last key is pressed. But in the phone app, as soon as a call ends (doesn't seem to matter if I end it or the other party ends it), the display turns off after just a couple seconds.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I believe, the phone doesn't determine inactivity based upon the end of your call, but rather based upon the last button that you pressed. So, if you are on a two minute call, the phone (application) say's "...he hasn't pressed a button in a while, so I am going to shut down...".

That would make sense if the other party hung up and the phone call just ended on its own, but this happens even when I end the call by pressing "hang up." It would seem to me that pressing "hang up" should count as a button press and reset the activity counter, no?

Some further info:

If I'm on a call and go into another app (exit the phone app while still on the call) and then the other party ends the call, the display turns off a few seconds later (regardless of what app is active).

If I hit some other key right after the call ends, the activity seems to be reset and the display does not turn off.

I never had to do this before -- not sure what's changed. I've confirmed all my settings under the power prefs. Again, when there's no call being ended, the device stays on for the expected amount of time before powering the display off (that is, it follows the delay I have set in the prefs).

Curiouser and curiouser -- now I'm finding that even DURING a call, it dims after the desired time (30 seconds) but also shuts off the display after the preset time (1 minute) -- even DURING a call! And the keyguard engages.

The only way I can get it to come back on is to press one of the hard keys (like the phone key, which then changes to the initial phone app display instead of the "in call" display, so that's not so good).

Is this normal? It's like it doesn't recognize being on a call as being "special" anymore.

If you are on a call and the timer is set to one minute, the screen will disappear after one minute. Set your timer to 3 minutes.
