Is it fried?
I installed a clock program on my Treo tonight. I did the trial, I did not really like it so I deleted it. Now everytime I access contacts or HotSync it crashes. I did a soft reset no luck I did a Hard reset, save info and it still crashes.
What next?

Finally got it working again, I had to do a complete reset erase everything.
I had installed Butler and Mobile Clock. I went into my program files on computer and removed both of these programs and did the HotSync.
Now it works again, I don't know if it was Butler or Mobile Clock I just know that one of them screwed up my Treo.

Don't you hte that I had that happen to me and i could never tell which program is messing my treo up. Someone should come up with a way to detect these things.

Dont have a 700 p or w but what i do have is very similar deal with Butler. Butler put a world of hurt on my 650, I liked the program but my treo kept going crazy. Don't know if this helps but once I removed Butler everything seemed to be cool again.. Maybe just install Butler or the clock program and see if you can tell which one is causing your probs...Hope this helps.
Peace

To help in this situation in the future, you could do a backup of your Treo right before you install a new application. Then if the application acts up you can do a restore. It's a hard thing to follow, because I know I just install things randomly without considering the consequences of an ill behaving application.

That is a really good idea. My boss likes to mess with his computer a lot and sometimes he will do stuff to it and then come get me when it dosnt work. My new method of fixing his computer is now to just go to the system restore file and go back a few days and restore it to that original state. Its worked so far
.
Does the Treo have a system restore feature or maby somebody knows of a program that can back the system up internaly so it can be reset to its previous settings(kinda like I do with my bosses computer).

In my case I have it saved on my laptop as well as my desktop. I don't update the laptop but once a month. I have found out that a lot of these third party sofwares make my treo do strange things. I think I'll just stick with the basics.

Like Alex suggested above, having a backup app does this. It backs up the Treo's data, prefs, settings to the SD card. You can do it manually, like right before installing trial software or making major changes, or set it to do it automatically. I use BackupMan and have it set to backup every morning at 3 am. There are other popular ones, too. Check out this page from the ET Store and you'll get some ideas.
