Default Is my 700P slowly dieing??

Ok so I have had my Treo 700p for just over one month... lots of playing with software to see what I like and don't like... well I decided to do a hard reset the other day, and I have noticed that it is starting to have major lag problems... especially when sending/typing text messages... I never experienced this prior to the hard reset... is this signs of it slowly dieing??

If it is especially when sending messages then look to your location/signal strength and time of day. The only time my 700p slows down (only time) is when I am in a low signal area or in a low signal area and it is attempting to log in to a mail server or the data network.

The only time I have lag with text messenging is when I'm typing something in and the phone is polling my Exchange server or Gmail account at the same time. Do you have push enabled, or are you polling frequently for emails? Otherwise, the only other time I've ever had problems was on a trip where there was a very weak signal.

My observations are that the lag increases as the number of stored text messages increases. I deleted my old text messages, and the lag pretty much disappeared... I notice also the lag was greater if part of the chat log contained an image.

Oh....'scuse me. You are on Verizon. The text message issue is very very well known....I never keep more than five or ten and never have a problem....but if I needed to keep more I'd be irritated.
