Is there a way to block all data usage?

I just removed the data plan off of my palm treo 700p/verizon wireless. I just never use it enough to spend that much money monthly.

They said they can't block my phone from using dataplan from their end. So i'll have to pay 15cents per kb if I ever use it.

I just want to block the whole thing. My friends even might pick up my phone and start playing, getting on it without even me knowing it.

Is there a way to remove such feature or block all data? I couldnt' remove the web icon on the screen either... help!

No there is not; however, you can install an application that requires a password for specific applications or a third party launcher that has the ability to hide applications. ZLauncher has the ability to password specific tabs and that might be what you want. Then of course, there is the time one exits the application --

I have not had a data plan on my treo ever (my company provides me with a blackberry for that). I haven't had any problems. I simply don't use the browser or e-mail (in fact I have removed versa mail from the handheld). The only application I use that comes close to connecting for data is AvantGo (sort of an offline browser that loads most of it's data when syncing, but sometimes will try to connect if you click on something that is not preloaded. It always asks though, before connecting)

I have Verizon and THEY did block my data access on my old Treo 650 when I upgraded to the 700. I gave my old 650 to my wife and did not want TWO data plans. I would check again with Verizon as they can do it (at least in New York).
