Java on the 700p
Just wondering if I have to download anything to have Java on my 700p. I tried to download the Windows Mobile Live maps program for Java and the Treo told me that it didn't support that type of file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question about Java, but I'm sure someone here will have some input for you when they wake up.
Have you tried using Google Maps? It's free to use and does work on the 700p and 650.

to use any kind of java app you need to go to the palm support section and download the ibm java.
Hey does anyone know when installed does it slow down your device?

Based on what jreagles posted, I went and found this at Palm.com:
Is this the correct download?
(I deleted the link because it led to a download that wasn't compatible with the Treo 700p. Sorry.)

I already have Google Maps...I just wanted to try the Windows Live Mobile version if I was able to...

you don't need java for that I though. Also palm OS is not supported for windows live mobile. It only supports 700w/wx/750.
heres a post I found about that:

There is a java appleat on palm.com you might have to use the 650 one. Cuz I think palm doesn't offical support it or something along that line.
