Managing incoming text messages

Is there a way to keep incoming text messages from automatically popping up on my screen? I am not finding this in the user guide and haven't been able to figure it out on my own. I am using the Messages application that came with my 700p. Thank you.

From within the messaging app, go Options/Prefs/Privacy mode. Many people also use Butler (which does alot of things we wish the Treo did by itself) for further message privacy.

I have seen that option but didn't know what it meant. I am still not sure what specifically it will do, but I will give it a shot. Thanks a lot. I will also check out Butler.
