New Google Maps

Apparently, the latest Google Maps can do a pretty good job of pinpointing your current location.

Per the instructions, I went to google.com/gmm and downloaded the .prc file. After installation, I'm not seeing the new feature. And, the Version still says 1.2.0.9 -- I think it's supposed to be version 2.0.

Anyone having any luck installing the new version on their 700p?

Nevermind. I just found a post on the Google forums by a Google employee. Version 2.0 is only available for these phones:

* BlackBerry devices
* Some recent Motorola devices
* Some recent Sony Ericsson devices
* Many Windows Mobile devices
* Nokia Series 60 3rd Edition devices

At this time, it is not available for Palm Treo devices or the Apple
iPhone.

Bummer.

Yeah. Bummer. Thanks for the info, though. I've been looking for this information myself.

Hopefully they'll roll out support soon for more devices. It really is an awesome feature!

What is the new feature? I already use Google Maps and find it handy.

The new feature is for those with the Windows OS on their Palms and other devices listed above. The link is http://google.com/gmm/index.html.
