    Default New Text Message = Notified Once.. :(

    one thing I liked about my old phone, if I got a text, I'd get a vibrate when it arrived, but then I'd get a reminder every x minutes until I viewed it. That was nice, esp if I didn't hear/feel the initial ring.

    With the Treo and SMS, it seems like a one-shot, one-time notify for new SMS... Are there any third-party packages to help with this, maybe?

    The third party application necessary to do this with is Butler. The link is http://www.hobbyistsoftware.com/Butler-more.php.

    I use Butler for its nagging capabilities; it compliments the system attention manager and the notification functions of many applications - it really can make a nagging machine.

    yes! i have noticed. lol. using it now. it works. all i really want it for is the SMS nagging.
