 |  New Vista Computer Fixing to upgrade to a new desktop. Just wondering if anyone has been through changing over from an XP and what pitfalls I should be aware of as it relates to Outlook and my Treo 700p? |

| I am running an Acer Vista laptop. My suggestion is to buy the desktop or whatever and install XP on it. XP is faster, more stable and has fewer problems installing software/hardware on it. If you stick with Vista, then you need to routinely disable your virus scanner when installing software and hardware. You need to also ensure the product is Vista compatible and then there is still no guarantee it will work. In addition, when I first started installing hardware (USB) to my laptop, it wanted to look everywhere but the correct place for drivers - if prompted, enter c:\windows and allow it to search the sub folders. Do I like Vista? It has been stable for me - no crashes. It is not as fast as XP on the previous laptop and it bites when installing some things. However, PDANet works great on it. Ben
