i keep trying different headsets with my treo and only get sound from the right side. I am trying to use the Pocket tunes feature to avoid purchasing an MP3 player, but am becoming weary of not being able to get sound from both the left and right side. The only headphones I have had any luck with were by Seido, but they had poor sound quality. Reading your entry I see there may be a button, etc. I can use to possibly help with this challenge.
Thanks.
actually, I bought 700 wx to try out (came back to the P), and it came with a stereo set of headphones which work perfect. otherwise u need to get an in line adapter that converts the sound to stereo. they only like $3. however, after playing around with ptunes and so forth, the treo might be good for occasional music listening (its cool at first, but then u realize that is not its intended purpose), but by no means an ipod replacement.

I went to the Treo because I didn't want to carry around a PDA and a phone, so why would I want to carry a Treo and an MP3 player? :tounge:
I think the sound is more than adequate if you get the in-line adapter you mentioned and a decent set of headphones. The ones that ship with the 755p are surprisingly good. I use my Treo all the time as a car stereo (adapter lets me plug it into the AUX input). Hell, I even plug it into the soundboard during band rehearsals if we're looking at a new cover tune.

Well everyone is different. My treo is for 90% business/ 10% play. I don carry my ipod around with headphones stuck in my ear to begin with. Its just hooked up and forgot about in the glove box and run through my Alpine head unit. BUt if music is your biz or you use your ipod alot with headphone, then the treo replacement may be a great option for some. However, again it is no replacement, the update did not remove 100% of the occasional skip in playback. And from one muscian to another, that annoys the crud out of me. But I guess for playback to figure out the song is more than adequate!

Ah, see what I get for posting in the 700p forum? I went from a 650 to a 755p, so I've never been plagued with the skip issue.

Yeah, no issues here. I think Verizon is supposed to be getting the 755p in November.

I took my 700p to the Verizon store to see if there OEM stereo headphones w/answer worked and no dice. Apparently Palm does not support a stereo set with a build in mike to answer calls. However as already stated an adapter with regular ear buds works fine.
Are there any Palm headphones w/answer option out there that work?

There are several advertised on this website. I have the original Palm version and the upgraded Palm version. Both work well and allow you to speak on the phone to answer call, then go right back to playing music. Look for Headphones, not Headsets on the Treo Store.

Palm headset adapter
Get the Palm headset adapter and you can plug any set of headphones into your Treo. I'm using a set of Koss headphones with PocketTunes 4.06 and it sounds great in stereo.
Cheers.
