Default Palm Treo 700p and GPS

Does the Treo 700p have GPS built-in, or do you need to buy an adapter?

My wife has a stand alone TomTom unit. This is my opinion, but if you are using this for driving, I can't imagine using a Treo, since the view screen is too small. A stand alone TomTom will probably cost as much as trying to integrate it into your Treo. Since you might only use it when driving, there is no need to have it mobile, like your Treo, so you can leave the TomTom in your car. On the other hand, the larger view screen will allow for better viewability. I downloaded Google Maps on my Treo and could barely read the map, imagine tring to do that when you are driving.
Just my opinion, but get the stand alone.

Haroldo, that has been my experience with using the Treo with Google Maps. I find what I am looking for; however, it is not unusual to have to zoom in a bit.

700p with Sprint does have a form of GPS in that if I google search for local address it will tell me where the location is from where I am. It knows where I am and tells me how far away addess requested is and what direction.

Does anyone know if that's the same for Verizon 700P?

No, it does not interact with Google, et cetera. The GPS used by Sprint and the Treo series is strictly for 9-1-1 locating.
