Default Playin' with my 700p

Well, things must be goin' well w/the new "p". Spent the last couple of days just playing, having fun with it, & discovering stuff. Thought it might be fun to start a thread about all the neat little things people are doin' to jazz up their Tréos. For example, in the "agenda" mode of the calander, I changed the background to a really colorful "sky w/clouds" pic. Looks much better than the plain/stock background. Then I've been browsing online and collecting all kinds of "business logos" (banks, triple A, etc.) saving them to my card and posting them as the "picture" to each relating contact in my contacts database. Very colorful & just fun to see when pulling up a contact. It'd be cool to hear some other peoples fun "discoveries" & things they're doin'. "Hollywood"

Hey Ben,Quick question. I've been saving a bunch of pics & logos to my card, & assigning them as the "photo" to different entries in my "contacts" folder. It seems though, that even after I delete the jpeg from the card, that the picture/logo still appears in the contact entry. Is it not necessary to have to "store" the picture on the card to use it as a photo under contacts? If not, I'd be able to free up some space on my card by deleting a bunch of these logos, if I can still have them appear under contacts. What's the buzz?"Hollywood"

I have never played with this function of the dialer. What the dialer did do long, long ago was to copy the file to the device's main memory and rename it, though I do not remember much more than that. Ben

I have a feeling it may do the same thing (copy the pic to the main memory), because as I said, if I delete the pic from the card, it still appears on the contact.

I tried it and went looking for a similarly named file in RAM and never found it. My intention is to maintain as much free RAM as possible and still allow me to customize. For me this means applications that can be run from the card are installed and using ZLauncher are moved to the card. I keep backgrounds in RAM for use by ZLauncher, 2Day and Takephone 7. All Word and Excel files are kept on the card; however, when actively using them, I keep the file in RAM to cut down on startup time.

Oh well.

Ben
