Problems sending pictures - Treo Forums

I've done some searching on a few different forums and can't find anything that really helps me. When I take a picture with my 700p I can't get it to send as a text or an attachment. I did get it send using picture mail once but it just directs you to the Sprint site and I don't like that.

I want to have the person on the other side see the picture on their phone without having to go to the Sprint site. It would also be nice to send the picture as an attachment in an e-mail. I use ChatterEmail almost exclusively, but have tried with Versamail and that does not work. I'm using my g-mail SMTP to send and can send regular e-mails and text.

ChatterEmail excels at attachments. Start a "new message." On the third line there is a clip on the right side, tap that and start playing. It works really well and makes use of the 5-way keys very nicely.

I've done that and it still doesn't work. It seems like it works but I get a text message sometimes hours later telling me my message was undelivarable.

How 'bout this? Open up your Pics/Videos App, and select a picture. You'll see a little envelope on the lower right hand side of the screen. It allows you to tap on a picture and "share" it.

After tapping on the envelope it allows you to send the picture to either a cell phone number as a text attachement, or to an email address.

I get the options send with picture mail, send with online services and upload to online albums if I choose send with picture mail I get it with a link to the sprint picture mail server in g-mail. I can't see the photo nor do I see a link in the message I get through Chatteremail. There is a link to view photo that does pull up a thumbnail in Blazer at the pictures.sprinpcs.com site.

If I choose send with online services I get these options

help
retail pickup
ceiva
myfoodphone

If I choose upload to online albums it sends it to my online Sprint album.

Is there a way to send a picture so my wife can see it on her phone without having to go to the Sprint site? I don't think she can do that with her phone. Or does the Treo just lack that function? doesn't make sense, even the cheapest camera phones can do what I want.

Sprint........ahh............I'm using Verizon. Don't know if perhaps it's different?

If her phone has the ability to handle attachments, then yes it should. Do you have a jpg viewer in main memory of your device?

Is Gmail the only account you have set up for Versamail?

I don't think I have anything special other than what came on the 700p. I found out last night that everything is the same as it has always been on her phone. It just worked different on the phone I had before the 700p.

Yes, and I rarley use Versamail. I pretty much stick to ChatterEmail so I can have my mail pushed to me.

So far I have not gotten any of the messages that picture mail was undeliverable. Maybe there was just something wrong with the Sprint network for the last couple of weeks.

I still think there should be some type of improvement in the way picturemail is handled.
