Protected image to Contact corrupted my 700p?

Theory
A picture I downloaded from Sprint picture mail was protected and attempting to attach it to a contact 'damaged' my 700p.

Background
I've had the treo for 6-7 weeks.
Treo 700p. Sprint service.
Palm user since '96. This is my 1st Treo.

Had some reset problems with the 700p early on. Might have been BT related.

Has been very very stable for the past few weeks.
No resets, lockups, etc.

Incident
My wife forwarded me via Sprint picture mail a picture she'd received from my daughter (also via Sprint picture mail).

I saved the picture. Noticed that there is a lock in the lower right corner.
My 1st experience with picture mail. Didn't / don't know what the lock means. Assume it's a protected pic that can't be copied, etc.

Went to contacts and tried to associate the picture with my daughter's contact.
Couldn't see the picture though. It wasn't listed.

Went back to the picture mail and chose save as contact pic (or similar description).
Appeared to be working. Able to get to the contact I wanted to add it to.

Then the Treo reset when I tried to save the updated Contact.

Symptoms
I had one other random reset today.

My Profile Manager isn't working. Has been working fine for a week or two.
Now I can't 'Set' a profile.

Security isn't kicking in.
I'm not being prompted for a password when I turn the device on.

What I've done
Associated another picture with the Contact record.

Deleted the locked, downloaded picture from the device.

Reset after each of those changes.

Current State
It's still behaving odd. Symptoms listed above.

Nothing critical but I'm concerned that it will reset or lock at some point.

Should have waited until today to post...

I finally spent some time with Profile Manager last night and discovered that the Enable Profiles checkbox in the app's preferences had been cleared.
Not sure if that happened yesterday or earlier.

Regardless, the reset(s) I did yesterday triggered that setting and turned off Profile Manager.

So, it appears that everything is running normal now.

My biggest concern was that the system was unstable and the Profile Manager issue was just one indication/symptom.

I still don't know what about the Sprint Picture Mail pic caused the reset. Minor issue.

You can find out what caused a reset on your Treo, by dialing the following code in the Phone application on your Treo: ##377 (Sprint), #*#377 (Verizon), #*377 (others).
