| Purchasing 700p without new service I am interested in purchasing a treo 700p, but would like to stay with Verizon and am not yet eligible for a phone upgrade. Does anyone know where I can purchase this phone for less than $600 without changing my service?
Thanks! |

| Actually, I just went through this 3 weeks ago. I'm with Verizon .. wasn't eligible for the upgrade for another year and decided to go in and try my luck. (Took my husband with me and he did most of the talking) - we explained I wanted a treo, that I wasn't going to be able to get the upgrade and if he could work his magic. lol. He went and talked to his manager - they gave me the phone for the upgrade cost (3 something) and also was able to get a mail in rebate of $100.
Don't do anything over the phone - I personally tried and didn't get anywhere....I had luck actually going into the store and talking to them face to face.
I'm telling you, that was the best decision ever. I swear, I think I'm in love with my Treo - is that possible? And lurk on these forums daily - I've tried and am still trying out most of the applications you all recommend and haven't had one problem with it yet. Well, besides the music skipping thing but I figured out what that was after reading through here. |

| I am a day away from getting out of Nextel for service issues and have to decide between the Verizon 700p and 700w.
I am most interested in OS stability. What more does Windows Mobile have to offer besides multi-tasking. This is only for personal use; mostly emails, some multimedia and internet. |

| Check out this review page, if you haven't already. There are reviews of both models. That might help you out in making a decision. IMO, there isn't an inherent problem with stability on the 700p. You just need to be smart about loading up with 3rd-party apps. Doing it one by one to identify potential conflicts is the way to go. And you'd definitely want some type of uninstaller to get rid of residual files after you do trial periods on apps.

| I read the reviews and it is still hard to choose. I am familiar with the Palm OS, like a nice screen, don't need wifi, and am a home user.
Each has it pluses and minuses. Is the w as stable? It seems the w only comes with msn im and I do like the Windows platform. Is there an issue with lack or memory?
I think I could be very happy with the p but like the w. |

| Let me ask you what led you to pick the Palm instead of Windows Mobile. I know I have 15 day return anyway. Doubt I will need DUN or wifi.
Knowing what you know now, would you pick the 700w over the 700p?

| I'm going through the same. My current contract with verizon ends till march which is less than a year away. I'm going to do what diamin did. I'm going to verizon. I had called a couple of days ago. They said I'm "eligible" for an early upgrade. It sounds like a bunch of bs. He wouldn't give me any prices. But I'm just going to go to Verizon store and check out what kind of deals I can get. Now my only problem is choosing between the 700p and 700w. What made you guys decide to go for the p or the w? |
