Question About Alarms (basic)
I just got the treo 700p and it performs differently then my previous smartphone.
For example:
I create an appointment for 5pm on Thursday, and set a reminder to go off 10 minutes before the appointment. So ten minutes before the "alarm/ reminder notification" goes off and rings once. How can I make it so the alarm or reminder sound doesnt stop until I click snooze or acknowledge the event?

Hello and welcome to ET. Try going to prefs / sounds & alerts / calendar (change the dropdown box). You'll see a repeat button which you can change from 1 to 100. Will that do ya?

I would have thought changing it to 100 would do just that. That wasn't from experience, though, as I don't use the Palm calendar. I use Agendus Pro for my events and have always used Butler or mobileClock for alarms.
Maybe someone who uses the native calendar regularly can jump in?

The repeat xx times however does not mean that the alarm will continuosly ring for that time. The alarm will go of once every five minutes for 1 to 100 times.

It's not free, but TreoAlarm works great.

I dont need an alarm though, I need my reminders for the calendar to audibuly remind me until I acknowledge them, instead of just one beep 10 minutes before as a reminder.
Thats just garbage im ashamed of palm. I hope there is a solution to this

It's also not free, but Butler also allows you to modify Alarms.
I think most people would be really annoyed by an alarm that never stops. In addition, it would drain the battery pretty quickly, and would be a security risk if you leave it in your car, office, locker etc. where the sound would attract a thief.
There are plenty of ways to repeat the alarm or change it to a longer sound under prefs.
If changing the "repeat" setting does not work, I suspect something else is interfering with the sound on your Treo. Try choosing a different alarm sound and repeat that.
