Default Random Messaging Alert Bell Chimes

my treo 700p verizon sounds the "alert bells" messaging randomly when i dont have any text messages. there are no other indications on the screen for what the alert bells are indicating. has anyone had the same issue? it is very annoying to have random chimes.

I thought I saw this note elsewhere...anyway, there are settings in the system preferences to look at that include signal strength, roaming, et cetera. In addition, there just might be an application working in the back ground that is set to chime under specific conditions. These issues are normally not random. Ben

Where are the system preferences located?

System Tools or Repair Wireless Sync Notification Settings Plays "Alert Bells"

If you are experiencing the sound of "Alert Bells" and vibrating that seems random, it's probably not. Go to your Wireless Sync Settings and open your Notifications and uncheck the notification settings there.
