SD card and MP3
Got a 1gig SD card for my phone. I bluetoothed some Mp3s to it. NOW, how do i get it to allow me to use those mp3s as my ringtones??????
Must i have a third party software? I really don't want to do this uniless it is definitely necessary.

I don't think it's doable from the card without 3rd-party apps. You'll need to move a song (or a 30-second portion, preferably) to the Treo's RAM and it should show up in the tones you can apply as ringtones.
Sprint Treo 700p 2Day, 4Cast, Agendus Premier, BluePill, Butler, Chatter, Diddlebug, Flight Status, Google Maps, LightwavPro, MyBible 4, Noah Pro, palmPDF, PDANet, ProfileCare, pTunes Deluxe, QuickNews, Reset Doctor, RescoBackup, SplashID/Money, TCPMP, TealLock, UninstallManager, volumeCare Pro, ZLauncher

bluetooth transfer to the SD card and thne transfer to the RAM?
and THEN it will show up in the ringtones menu?

People have had mixed results just moving the app via sync or using a file manager. What I and some others have done is email it to ourselves and download the song straight to the Treo from whatever app you use for email. It automatically goes straight into Tones. I haven't put any new ringtones on my 700p, but that's how I did it with the 650.

ok. so i've download it thru email, thru sync and it just goes into the pocket tunes.
but it's not in the drop down list of the possible choices for ringtones.

What exactly did you do? Email it and open and save the attachment.....or did you sync it? You'll need to email it, open the email on the Treo, then save the attachment to the Treo. It should go right into Tones.

i emailed it to myself. i downloaded it on my treo from versamail. then it asked where i wanted to put it, Treo or SD card. I downlloaded it 2 times. Once to each location.
Not in the ringtones menu. It IS in the ptunes menu tho.

I just re-read the entire thread and I just realized you still have it in mp3 format. Check out this thread where I posted on converting for free.

i read that entire thread. that you suggested. i converted it over to wav. it got huge. the 1meg mp3 became 9 megs. when i emailed it over it downloaded as 12 megs.
it's only 20 seconds.
it still doesn't pop up in the ringtones folder.
