 |  so stupid I keep getting emails for replies to every thread I post in. I have configured my settings correctly. Why does it do that? Why is it even the deafualt? It makes no sense, and is pointless. |

I'm betting the reason for it being the default is that many people start threads to ask a question. With the setting that way, they can know when someone has replied, in case they don't visit regularly.
