Sprint Navigation
Hello everyone...I have been lurking around the forum here for some time, but I just recently decided to join. Anyways, I just re-upped my sprint plan yesterday. Included in my re-up was Sprint Navigation. I was told that it would work fine with my 700p from the employee and manager in the Sprint store. I have tried everything but I can't get it to download to my phone. I keep getting a message saying my sprint handset is not supported at this time. Any tips? Thanks in advance...

Welcome to the forum. According to this page, from Sprint's site, the Treo isn't supported. Maybe the sales rep and the manager didn't quite know what they were talking about. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be the first time.

Yeah, even after tinkering with it some more, I have had no luck. I think I am going to change my plan yet again LOL. I even called customer service with the issue and the lady I spoke to said I was able to get it, but after troubleshooting for a while we had no resolution. It's a cool feature, but too bad it isn't compatible with my treo...I wish the people at sprint were a little more knowledgeable about the products and plans that they sell.

that is strange that it doesn't work since Sprint specifically has a "Navigation" plan to choose from when you get the treo. I just got mine yesterday and saw that option.

As of now the Sprint Navigation plans are not compatible with any of the treos. The only PDA phone that it is currently compatible with is the Blackberry 8830 world edition phone. When and if Sprint Navigation becomes compatible with the treo you will require a separte bluetooth GPS receiver.

Very VERY interesting. I am also about to re-up my plan, upgrade a few devices and add the full lineup of services for ALL phones on my plan. I specifically asked about the nav option for my rather large arsenal of Treo's and they assured me that it would work on each/every one of them regardless of the model. The rep even stated that it would work just fine with my aging Samsung PM-A740!
Thank you for this info as you just saved me yet another nightmare in which I would at first be frustrated and waste my time attempting to get it to work. Let's also not forget dealing with the wait for an issue which would obviously be sent to "Tier II" support (after a CSR then a "Tier I"), changing my plan yet again and the obvious billing problems associated with THEIR error. It wouldn't be the first time:-(

I just subscribed to Sprint Nav
(Seen here: http://blog.telenav.com/blog/2009/09...find-your-way/) (or TeleNav ) and was wondering if there was any cheaper GPS software?
