Switched Broken LCD but doesn't work
My 700P cracked (I think just lcd- digitizer seems fine) and I dismantled it and inserted an LCD and Digitizer from my friend's old 650. Supposedly they have the same 320*320 screen but it is not working at all. Just get a blank screen like it is not connected.
When I looked for replacements online all the lcds are for both the 700p and 650. Is it possible that lcds directly from 650's don't work?
Anyone have any ideas? They would be greatly appreciated as now I am literally in the dark! I was better off with a cracked screen.

It is very possible the connectors can be slightly different and not making proper contact. It is also possible that reassembly may have loosened the connection.
Did the old screen work, but had a crack? If you put that back in does it still work? Or open it up again to reseat the connector and test?

Found a thread on treoquestions.org where someone had a similar problem. Apparently you really have to jam the ribbon in until it clicks. As the original poster stated, "Thanks, you're a life saver".

I just had the same problem. I took apart my treo 3 times trying to figure out the problem. You really have to push the plug in deep.
