Now you got me wondering.
If i bought Tom Tom for my 650 and wanted to load it on my wifes 700p would my 650 tom tom come obsolete or would it work on both phones still.

Well, I have the device ID and product activation for my Treo 650. Yesterday, I received the same info for the 700p. I assume that if I swapped my card back the 650, it would ask for a product activation based on the "old device id". Since I have the product activation code, entering that should get it running. I just changed the HotSync ID on the 650 to her name, so I'm not sure if that changes the Device ID?
So, to answer your question, I'd say that yes it shouldn't be an issue. I'm very surprised because I remember reading somewhere about upgrades causing a major problem with your TomTom product. Switching to the 700p was painless.

I live in utah and when i get close to the nevada border i start to roam not really anywhere to get lost when you are only driving straight but how does the tom tom work when you roam does it still navigate or are you lost until your services comes back up?

TomTom relies on your GPS receiver and not your wireless service. In fact, you could turn off your phone while using the TomTom and it would work just fine. It only has problems in tunnels.
