TomTom 6 on Treo 700p - Treo Forums

Does anyone know how to get this combination to work? I recently received my TomTom 6 (SD card version) and have spent the past couple days trying to figure out how to get it to work. I put the CD card in the phone and I just get a blank screen. I installed the CD that came with it and it just tells me that I have no compatible device installed.

I'm sure this answer is out there and I must have missed it dozens of times, but for the life of me, I'm not getting anywhere.

I had the same problem. TomTom's instructions don't really help much. How I fixed the problem was just take the SD card out of the palm and read it thru a card reader. For some reason it doesn't recoginize my Treo 700p. Just install the maps directly into the SD card and it should work. I'm still having problems with the TomTom from time to time, for instance... it doesn't recognize the wireless receiver sometimes. Does anyone have the same problem? Sometimes it takes like 5 mins for it to recognize it.. and sometimes it doesnt even recognize it at all. Is there a way to get better results?

Mine hasn't been picking up my receiver either. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be doing anything special or not to get it to pick it up.

How do I install the maps to the SD card? I thought they were supposed to be on the card to begin with. Is there a database file on the card or CD that I can install on the Treo?

I asked where I got it from what the deal is and the guy told me the card might be defective. He claims that he tested another TomTom 6 SD card on a Treo 650 and the program shows up, so he suggested that we swap cards.

If I can't figure out anything else, I suppose I'll go that route.

Whoops nevermind. I didnt read your post clearly. I have the DVD version. I installed the maps using a card reader since it didnt recognize my treo. Sorry I couldnt help u. Hope everything works out for you though..

I'm going to send the SD card back and I'll be sent another one in return. Hopefully, this is the problem. Sadly, I'm taking a pessimistic view here and assuming that this won't solve anything, but we shall see. I'll post an update when the switch is complete.

Success! I got my new TomTom 6 SD card today and it worked perfectly. I haven't been able to drive around and try it out yet, but everything appears to be working fine.
