Default Touch Screen Delay Problem

I have the Treo 700p and for some reason, when I hit "hang up" on the touch screen there is a 1-2 second delay before the phone hangs up. Other functions aren't automatic either and there is often a momentary delay. Is anyone else experiencing this? I find it really annoying because I don't know if it knows I've hit "hang up" or not.

(I previously had the Treo 650 and did not have this problem.)

I have experienced this too. I don't know how to stop the lag. But it happens.

A lot of people a treocentral.com have complained about this. Right now there is almost nothing you can do. U could try overclocking I have heard mix reviews about that.

Also make sure that you have more than 5mb of internal rom left.

Other than that if you find out anything it would be great to know.

I experience that all the time with my 700p. Someone else on this board blamed the problem on the fact that we're using an old version of the Palm operating system. Sounds logical to me.

Let's hope for an OS upgrade soon now that the 750's will be released in the next several months.

I typically use a BT ear piece and hang up from there, with no lag. I believe the red button can also be used for ending a call. If the on screen hang up lags, use another method.

old OS what do you mean?

The OS hasn't been updated for years. 5.9.4 or whatever is the most current.

I'm confused

I'm confused about what you're confused about. Your statement seems to support what you quoted me as saying (and, I just happened to be repeating what someone else had said earlier because I believe it to be true).

Any updates on this topic? I am having the same problem but not just when hanging up. I'll randomly get delays when using the buttons sometimes lasting 4-6 seconds. Any suggestions appreciated...

Personally, I'm just waiting for the OS update.

Disabling the time/date check in "Phone Preference" virtually eliminated the delay when answering or hanging up calls. But, I still get the freezes when doing other things with the Treo.
