Default Touchscreen out of alignment

Hello all. Out of the box my T700p VZ touchscreen worked perfectly. After the first sync during which I moved all of my 650 apps and data to the T700p, my touchscreen is now out of alignment, taps launch the wrong item, and the right arrow on the 5-way nav button will not permit me to scroll in that direction through menus. Obviously I've moved something from the T650 to the T700p that is not compatable. Palm and VZ's website is no help. Anything close in "support" brings a "bad gateway" error message. Anyone figured this one out yet?

Thanks, my brain kicked in right after I completed the thread and that's all it took. It turns out that a soft reset causes the problem as reported on other fora.

Every time your 700 resets, you run into this problem? How is it lately? I ask because mine seems to be doing the same thing.

No, I've done a few soft resets since then and all has been well. It happened only on the initial soft reset. IMO, after 4 days of serious tweaking (my kind i.e. no hacks) the 700p is much more stable than the T650.

Anything specific that might have been causing the problem? My Verizon 700p has been working great, despite me launching a Treo 600 firmware updater last night .... Don't ask!

Default Touchscreen ok

I've been good since late last night. After the initial 2 times, it hasn't happened again. Got my fingers crossed.

A soft reset is similar to rebooting your computer. Sometimes it just cures small issues.

The knowledgebase article has a handy description of the various resets possible on the Treo. Let's hope you continue the string of not needing to reset (knocking on wood)
