trading new 650 or selling for 700p

I just lost my 650 and it was insured so they are sending me a new 650.

I woulsd like to either sell or trade for a verizon 700p realizing there is a price difference. I already called my verizon store and they said I cannot do this through them. Any suggestions on how I could do this? Thanks for your help.

Right now, Verizon is not selling the 700p. Chances are that by the end of the month (aka right when your 14day return period has ended) it will be available. You can ask them (talk to a level 2 CSR or ask to speak to retentions). Either one of them would be best able to answer, but most likely, they will charge you full price instead of give you a good deal on a trade.

That is of course saying that you dont have a really good rep who would figure that out for you, but that is a slim thing since you are a new customer.

I don't believe 10smom is a new user -- but rather received a 650 as a result of a lost phone. In that case, I'm guessing it will tough to get an upgrade to the 700p.

If they just got the 650 as a new customer, then it would probably be easier to return during the 14 day window and move into the 700p.

If you're looking to sell, I'd suggest leaving it unopened and putting it on eBay. That's probably your best bet. Hope you're not expecting the $649 they're asking for 700p's without contract.
