My guess is you have a bad H700 since other than my Garmin
problem I have not had a problem with my recently purchased
Motorola H700. Actually I love it and it is so comfortable
I nearly forget I'm wearing it. Also my friend's tell me
I sound like I'm talking directly into the Treo not
through the Bluetooth mike. Perhaps you
should try a new or replacement H700?
Can I assume when you open the Bluetooth screen on your
Treo your H700 is listed as a "Trusted Device?" I don't
know if that matters but it may.
Since posting here and in two other forums I have discovered, after talking to Palm, Sprint & Garmin techs and reading other posts that unfortunately my H700 & Garmin will not function at the same time. It's one or the other. Even the Garmin tech told me so. I'm not willing to begin
testing other headsets even thought a poster said
he was able to get his H700p to function with
his Tom-Tom and another brand of GPS
but they make work differently. Most
confirmed my Garmin & H700 can't
be used at the same time. I love
my Garmin so don't want to
change to a different GPS.
And again I'm sticking
with the H700.
I did send back a $39.95 auto cradle that malfunctioned after only 3
days and bought a $99.95 Seidio with adjustable speaker, etc.
Very clear sound and it charges the Treo.
Have had it a few days and so far it works great. It comes
with a sensitive mike that fits on one's sun visor so
even though I can't use my H700 while my GPS in
running I can talk in a normal voice and it
sounds great to the listener. Of course
if my GPS isn't on, which is most of
the time, I use my H700.
In closing, I would definitely try another H700 if you like it
or another brand of headset, but again I think it's
your particular H700 that's causing a problem as
mine and others with Treo 700p's seem to
work well.

I re-pair the headset and the phone and it will work for the first call, but none after that. I'm a driving instructor, so the bluetooth is a necessity for me. Could it be that the Motorola H700 isn't fully compatible with the Treo 700?
I returned my first treo 700 (activated thru Verizon) after only having it for 3 days because the phone kept locking up on me. Absolutely nothing would work...the touch pad wouldn't work, the buttons...nothing! I also purchased the Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset at the same time I got the phone, and figured the problem I was having with my Bluetooth was because of the phone I had to exchange. But now, even the NEW Replacement Treo 700p they gave me is doing the same thing with the Bluetooth. Could it just be a bad Bluetooth?? |
