Treo 700p Release Date

Rumors are once again flying around regarding the release date of the 700p. This latest one comes courtesy of TC via Engadget. The rumored date is May 28th, which oddly enough is a Sunday. As with most rumors, this could be some Photoshop work...

Thanks for the latest update... remember way back late last year.... the news was Verizon had the 6 month exclusive on the new 700 and no other vendor could release one until June/July earliest??? then the rumors started.... February, March, April, now May... yep... looks like that exclusivity is intact...

And besides, when I asked my provider, Sprint, way back in January.. they told me "I" would be the first to be informed of an upgrade to my 650!!

I haven't heard from them yet, so I'll try to be patient till summertime!!!

Oh yeah, I don't think Sprint would use the phrase "EVDO" in the same context as "Powervision".... that's my hint that the info is "tainted'....

For what its worth, one of the release dates for the Cingular Wizard was on a Sunday. That was according to so called Cingular insiders. Of course that Sunday came and went without a Cingular Wizard appearing on its web site for another 2 months . . .

If you zoom in on the pic, the "display" doesn't line up with the screen. I know it's been posted all over, but it seems a bit suspect.

If it came from Palm, I wouldn't be surprised if it said EVDO. That being said, why would they lauch on a Sunday?

It's almost as if they wanted it to look like it was a "top secret document" acquired from the desks of Palm VIP's.

Let's face it...eventually one of these rumors has to be right. The worst has to be the Hollywood photo -- which is a Treo 650 with the antenna photoshoped off. Cmon' know... let's at least finish basic Photoshop 101 before you release what is supposed to be an unreleased Treo. Remarkably, this new Treo shares the exact same dropshadow as the Treo 650.

That pic is from Treonauts, right? The site owner originally posted that as a conceptual illustration when rumors of the Hollywood form factor started flying around. I don't think he ever tried to pass it off as real. Someone else may have, though...

It always helps to read..:redface: he's got other images from someone claiming to have it - thus the confusion on my end.

Well, those fellas at Engadget are saying May 15th. This rumor is of course spreading like wildfire... PalmInfoCenter is reporting via Engadget.

Great News! The next couple of months should be fun for us Treo Lovers!!!!

So tell me Chris . . . . . Has the new worn off that "W" yet? Are you ready to change carriers once again to test drive the "P"?

Currently my Long Term Plan is continue my affair with the 650, and let either "Hollywood" or the 700P seduce me into a long term GSM relationship! In other words, I am not planning on doing anything for about 10 more months!!!
