ringtone
hi, I'm a newbie and I just brought my treo 700p, i did everything you said, after i downloaded the attachment the treo said "this is not a supported wav file" did i do something wrong?
-
Im not getting the part where it says "this is not a supported file"
when i go to open the attachment from the email....it automatically plays it...help?
-
ok...figured it out.
For those having problems with it not asking you to "install this file"
1) Open up the email in Treo
2) next to the attachment....there is a little file thing.
3) Select it with your stylus and "select viewer"
4) Type: Wave
5) Viewer: Voice Memo
then follow the rest of original poster's steps

thanks sodam, did what u said and it worked, the tone plays on voice memo, but now im having the same problem simple gray is having, the tone cuts out after about 2 seconds does anyone found a solution if there having the same problem
-
to get around the 2-sec cut-off, follow the original post + sodamnjig's post, but open under "sounds" instead of "voice memo"
will take a few moments to transfer file from email to sounds folder, where you can manage it. after making sure it is there and plays full, erase the email w/ attachment if you are concerned w/ space.
hope this helps...

thanks j-ride, it worked like a charm

It's going to take versamail or some other email app in order to work. Like you've seen, web-based email access won't do it for you. I don't use versamail or gmail so I may not be much help to you there.

Just to start off, im brand new to treos, just got my first treo a few days ago
So here is my question, is versamail just the "mail" program that comes on the 700p? or is it some other program i have to install myself?
