Is it properly set in your contacts list? are you using a ring-tone manager?

Newbie here asking if there isn't just some way to put a small wav file in to the SD card and then copy it on to your treo? Do you have to have minitunes?

ok, i'm new @ this; i've opened up audacity & i have no idea how to get a song into audacity- i know this must sound silly to most of you-- i've tried copy & paste, dragging & i still can't get a full song into audacity- i'm only getting 1 sec worth of sound. i understand the concept- get a song you like & trim it down to 30 seconds or so & send it to your treo- its the beginning that i don't get.... any help would be appreciated!

Okay, I was able to email my edited WAV ringtone to myself. But when I click to open it on my Treo, it doesn't open in Voice Recorder, it opens in "Wave Player." It sounds great, but I can't seem to open it in Voice Recorder. Any clues? Thanks for any help!

Why do you want to open it in Voice Recorder? Isn't it already recorded?

If this is a part of the very long thread you added to, I apologize as I can't wade through all the posts.

If you don't mind to spend some time to upload your mp3 on a web site there is an easy solution to make a ringtone from mp3

    Default Me again...

I posted back in May, and then, I must have messed up the notifications, because I never got an e-mail telling me there were subsequent posts.

I'm the one who has my ringtone on the phone, 30 sec. length no prob, thanks to the thorough instructions posted by others here.

Where I'm lost is in getting the ringtone to stick. I'm selecting the ring tone using the Treo's built-in method of assigning the ringtone to a contact. But every time I sync, it goes back to the default.

I'm not using Ringo or any other 3rd-party app for ringtone management. I don't know if that's good or bad, but it's info I left off my original post that I think may be useful.

    Thanks!

Is there any way to save the ring tones to a SD card and access them? Im unfortunately out of memory because of the ring tones i have on my phones memory. I tried to copy them to the memory card, but i cant access them. The only ring tones that are present under the "Sounds" application are the ones saved directly to the phones hard drive. Any help is appreciated. thanks

I don't have an e-mail account open on my phone. Is there any way to simply create the ringtone on your desktop and transfer it over to the phone by using the software that comes with the phone (i.e. to sync up the phone with the desktop). That is how I got MP3's (full songs) from my computer to the phone. Can't I do the same with the ringtone I create on Audacity?
