wow , what an adventure ...
this is crazy . i wonder whats the percentage of malfunctioning devices compared to functional units ..... could this be less than 5% ? more ? i wonder since i bought my 700p not from Sprint but from inphonic and there exchange/replacement/refund policies are different than Sprint's. also , if it malfunctions , could i deal with Palm directly as a warranty issue or call Sprint ? :foot:

From my personal observations, I'd say the "problem devices" are in the Majority. When I hear that someone has had the same 700p for eight months or longer, I'm AMAZED!!"Hollywood"

awww man ... what am i going to do ? i've had blackberry's before and never once sent one back. in fact i still have my 7290 blackberry from a few YEARS back and the blackberry 8700c from early 2006 . i've had a treo 650 also but only encountered minor problems... i don't think this 700p will be an " Upgrade " if its going to leave me every few months for another device i have to reprogram all my apps into ...?:frown:

You might be interested in this post on another forum: over 70% of users are moderately satisfied or better with their Treo. In actuality, the numbers of major problems make up a small percentage of users. I've had mine for 10 months with no major problems whatsoever.

I can say that my high end Nextel Bluetooth smart phone has been replaced twice and the current one, number three, has a problem - I cannot be heard unless I use the headset. The Sprint 700p has been in use for about a year and I am still on #1.

Just our of curiosity... How do I know if my phone is up to date??

I need that 700p update soon...losing patience
Two comments:
1) I have had my same original Verizon 700P since last May (11 months now). No issues with hardware, works fine.
2) I'm just about fed up with the software lags though. I was just playing Astraware Soduko and pushed the phone icon to make a quick call. The screen went blank and 22 seconds later the phone application launched. Come on Palm and Verizon, ya gotta do better than this!
