2) I'm just about fed up with the software lags though. I was just playing Astraware Soduko and pushed the phone icon to make a quick call. The screen went blank and 22 seconds later the phone application launched. Come on Palm and Verizon, ya gotta do better than this! 11 Months? That's amazing. Congratulations. You mean in 11 months, the phone has NEVER reset itself, or done anything unusual at all? You've never had to do even a soft reset in 11 months??

| Hollywood,
I have seen it reboot itself a handful of times, but not often enough to concern me. I don't really associate that with hardware anyway. It's really either the software on the phone or the firmware that runs things. By the way, I don't have much 3rd party software on the phone. Just ChatterMail, Astraware Sudoku, and TCPMP. The real problem seems to be memory management and switching applications. That's where the long lags come in that are so aggravating. Many people probably assume the phone is locked up and reset when a little more patience would suffice. I'm not saying the lag is acceptable in any manner at all (it's not!) but that at least my phone doesn't lock up. As far as the reboots, they have happened so infrequently that I haven't associated anything with them. I am a heavy power user of both phone and broadband. I also have the VZAccess package so I can use this phone like a wireless card for my laptop. I have 3 batteries and swap those out regularly so maybe those reboots are the reason I don't see more issues. |

| If you are running ChatterEmail, lags can and do occur when it the device is attempting to connect to the mail server. From my usage, that appears to be the cause of my lags.

"Hollywood" I've had my 700p since November and haven't had any problems with it. No resets or anything unusual with it. I've also never had to do a soft reset. Actually, I've had better luck with this device then I did with my Blackberry. Nor have I had any problems with my battery, even though I keep the Bluetooth on at all times. The only trouble I've had with this device is when I turn off the Bluetooth; when I turn it back on, it fails to find my earpiece. |

| The latest update from Palm is to expect the update during the week of May 28th. More information on the Treo 700p update can be found on the blog.

-Chris Can't wait for this one! Sure hope it's worth the wait. I wonder if Palm is going to make this "update" one that can be done directly from the web browser of the Treo, and downloaded directly to the device?

The 700p MR will most likely require you to do the update via HotSync. This will be a major update requiring you to back up your data and restore at the conclusion of the update.

| And the bad thing is that I cannot do it via Bluetooth that means that it will be the first time my 700p will be cabled. In the past when I have done these updates, I have always backed up to the SD card, done the udpate and then restore from the card and NO problems yet.

| Treo number 4?? My Treo has been shutting off the phone (mostly at night) and one morning I caught it vasilating between Access Powered and blank screen.
Then, even though I do a soft reset or remove the battery and wait before re-installing it, the phone would be blinking as if connected, but the power on (srceen) does not wake it up (again after a nights rest). What the H**L !
Any body else?
BTW: I called Verizon and all they say is "we will replace it" and they do not know what causes this but blames aftermarket software apps being installed. |

-Chris Sounds like this "update" is likely to create a whole host of problems in itself!!
