| Treo in water to make a long story short, one of my friends dropped my treo 700p in a lake. the treo bounced off the dock, which knocked the battery out, than fell in the water. so the Treo was under water with out the battery. After we got it out, we put it in the dryer wrapped in a towel and let it dry. it is completely dry now but it still doesn't work. it keeps turning on and of very quickly. all you see are the lights blinking. anyone know if their is a way i can fix this or do i have to replace it. |

| There may be a couple different options as far as replacements go. You may manage to get a warranty replacement or use the insurance. The warranty is the way to go if you're looking to spend the $50 deductible. I haven't run into anyone who's been charged $150 but I have no problem believing that it's happened.
Another option, if you have multiple Sprint stores in your area, is to shop around. You may find one willing to either give you one they have on hand or order one free of charge, which stops you from spending a deductible and having used up an official replacement with the insurer. Some people have run into problems when they've needed multiple replacements with a year.
When my girlfriend's 700p went crazy on her, we found a friendly Sprint store who hooked her up free of charge.

| Hi:
Water damage seems to be one issue the warranties don't like to play along with. The sensor labels they put inside clearly show a unit that got wet and that usually voids any kind of warranty.
At least that is my understanding.
Good luck!

| Thats one of the funnier ways I've heard of people trying to dry the phone out, most people just go with a hair dryer.
The liquid indicators alone are not a definitive answer on whether a phone is liquid damaged or not - the indicators can go off with no liquid contact and I see liquid damaged phones where the indicators are still intact. If it got wet, chances are the techs that open the phone to check for damage will find it and you'll have to go through insurance for a replacement - for a deductible.
